An electronics design suite with schematic and PCB editors, a 3D viewer and a Gerber viewer
KiCad is an open-source electronics design program. Its source tree is organized as a project manager, a schematic editor, a printed circuit board editor, a 3D viewer and a Gerber viewer, along with smaller tools such as a bitmap to PCB artwork converter and a page layout editor.
It is for people who design electronics, from drawing schematics to laying out circuit boards and previewing them in 3D. The project includes demo examples and a project template to start from, and its translations are managed through Weblate for most languages.

Yes. KiCad is free and open source under the GNU GPL 3.0. AppsXi lists the maintainers' official release and does not charge for it.
AppsXi downloads every version of KiCad from the maintainers' official GitHub release and checks it before it is listed. For version 10.0.6 (checked Oct 13, 2026), the Windows download is Authenticode signed, each file matches the checksum GitHub publishes for the release, byte for byte and a malware scan found nothing.
KiCad is an open source project by KiCad EDA on GitHub (KiCad/kicad-source-mirror). Help and bug reports go to its maintainers there.
