AppsXi

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to find, buy and download apps on AppsXi. Our goal for this website is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

What we do

  • Every page works with a keyboard. Press Tab on any page and the first stop is a link that skips to the main content.
  • Buttons, links and form fields have names that screen readers read out, and messages such as “Copied” or a failed payment are announced.
  • Text and controls meet the WCAG contrast minimums in both the light and the dark theme, and an automated test checks this whenever the colors change.
  • Decorative motion stops within five seconds, and it is off entirely when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Pages are built to work on a narrow phone screen and when you zoom in.

What we know is not perfect

  • The card form at checkout is provided by Square, our payment processor, and the security check is provided by Cloudflare. They follow their own accessibility work and we cannot change them.
  • App names, descriptions and screenshots are written by each app's developer or come from the project's own page. Some screenshots have no written description yet.
  • AppsXi checks each app for safety, not for accessibility. Ask the developer about how accessible their app is before you buy; you can return a paid app within 14 days if it does not work for you.

Tell us about a problem

If something on AppsXi is hard or impossible to use with your setup, report a problem and choose “Something else”. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you use. Leave your email if you want a reply. For purchases, downloads and refunds, see Help.
