About Proton Mail Bridge
Proton Mail Bridge lets email clients work with a Proton Mail account. When launched, it initializes local IMAP and SMTP servers and shows its own graphical interface.
After you log in with your Proton Mail credentials, you add a new account in your email client using the settings shown in Bridge. The client can only sync while Bridge is running, so the option to start Bridge at login is enabled by default, and it keeps running in the background when you close its main window.
Highlights
- Local IMAP and SMTP servers for connecting email clients
- Settings for configuring your email client are shown in the Bridge interface
- Start-at-login option enabled by default
- Keeps running in the background when the main window is closed
- Uses native credential managers on Mac and Windows
- Signed app files verified by a launcher, enabling secure automatic updates
