About MiaoYan
MiaoYan is a quiet, distraction-free writing app for the Mac, built for local Markdown notes. Its name, 妙言, means words beyond words. Your notes are plain Markdown files in a folder you choose, and the app does not collect any data.
It is aimed at writers, students, and developers who want a focused place to take notes without a plugin system to maintain. Folders, notes, and the editor sit in three columns, and a split preview shows your formatted text next to the Markdown as you type. Syncing is handled by the cloud drive you already use, such as iCloud Drive.
