Open-source speech-to-text app that transcribes offline into any text field with a keyboard shortcut
Handy is a cross-platform desktop application for simple, privacy-focused speech transcription. Press a shortcut, speak, and your words appear in any text field, all on your own computer without sending information to the cloud.
It filters silence with voice activity detection and transcribes with your choice of Whisper models or the CPU-optimized Parakeet V3 model. It suits anyone who wants to dictate into other applications, and the project positions it as accessibility tooling.
